The current pause available in the top right corner pauses the queue until the sab is shut down.
When I start it again, the pause is gone.
In some cases it is desirable to pause the queue in a persistent manner - meaning that the pause will be turned on even after sab restarts.
There are many ways to do this:
- add a new 'persistent pause' button next to the current one.
- add a "Persistent' checkbox next to the current pause button
- add a "Pause is persistent' switch to the config->swithes
- add a 'Pause persistently' entry to the pulldown 'Pause for...' menu
Either way is fine with me as long the pause sticks when I restart sab (and the PC).
Thank you.
Persistent pause
Re: Persistent pause
Just add the -p parameter to whatever way you start up SABnzbd with.

There are two. Windows startup or, the shortcut on the start menu.shypike wrote:Just add the -p parameter to whatever way you start up SABnzbd with.
I would not want to be changing the shortcuts manually every now and then...
But, thank you for the suggestion.
Re: Persistent pause
OK, I see what you mean now.
A persistent pause button besides the normal pause.
Sorry, I consider this a bit over the top and not easily explainable to users.

Re: Persistent pause
I understand, no worries.
I just thought I would ask - it can't hurt.

Re: Persistent pause
Hi,
I kindly second the request, an option to start the application in paused state makes much sense I guess, for a newbie like myself. I have always thought that the default state should be an inactive one, giving you time to make changes to your queue etc. Also, firing up sabnzbd+ and then immediately pausing it was breaking Growl, but with the latest update it seems that the problem had been resolved.
Can anyone please tell me where to add the "-p"? I am on a mac and did the basic install.

Re: Persistent pause
On the Mac it's very hard to do, because there are no shortcuts.
You best bet would be to schedule a pause event in Config-scheduler.
The scheduler events are evaluated at startup.
I'll see if we can add an extra option in config->switches for a pause-on-Startup.
