SABNZBD loses everything after system restart

Post by mrsalive »

Every time my (Vista... I know, I know) computer restarts, SABNZBD loses all my settings and downloads, and prompts me to run the wizard again.

I can't figure it out... Help?

Your settings are stored (or should be) in:
c:\Users\user\AppData\Local\sabnzbd\sabnzbd.ini
When user is your login name.
If nothing is stored there it could be that SABnzbd has problems reading your user profile.

I have the same issue.

My config (.ini) file is where it should be but it doesn't seem to store my preferences when I boot my computer.

I run the wizard and the ini files updates (my server, port and connexion are stored) but when I restart, there's nothing in it.
It's been like this for maybe 4 days.

Is there a log file?
It's accesible from the Status page in SABnzbd.

There is.
It goes back to 8/13 though. What should I copy/paste here ?

There's nothing out of the ordinary in your log file and no error messages either.
What happens if you start it like this:
WindowsKey-R
then type
"C:\Programmes personels installés\SABnzbd\SABnzbd.exe" -f c:\some-folder
Enter
Where some-folder is some folder you created.
If you start like this, SABnzbd doesn't need to read your profile and will put all of its
folders and files in c:\some-folder (you can change individual paths in Config->Folders).
See if that preserves the sabnzbd.ini file.

I use CCleaner and went to the list of programs starting with Windows : Sabnzbd was there twice.
I deleted one of the lines and it seems to work fine now.

Good that it works now.
Possibly a race condition.
Starting the same version of SABnzbd for a second time should just show the previous one in the browser.
However, when they start almost simultaneously, the second one might not detect the first one
and this may very well cause problems.
That's a situation we never tested for :(
