Ping server before starting to download

Hi,
I use SABnzbd for a little while now (thanks for this wonderful tool) and I have a little problem. First the context, I use one paid server but my download speed speed is limited to 6Mb, my ADSL line can provide 8Mb so to optimize my download a little I also use 2 or 3 free server (IPV6 and IPV4) which are not very reliable.
I've seen that if one server (especially an IPV6 one) is totally unreachable then if I start SABnzbd and add an nzb it will freeze and then tell me that all my servers are timed out. If I take some time to ping (or ping6) each one to detect the faulty one and reduce his number of connections to 0 (to disable it) -> After a restart, SABnzbd works fine.
That problem should be easy to reproduce.
So my feature request would be to try to ping each server to check if they are alive before trying to download from them (only once during the initial start).
Thanks in advance.
