Renaming movies, impact on subtitles?

Post by DrSabb »

With the automation of renaming files, along with the fact that in the past I used to manually rename them... removing release info, date, quality and anything else that wasnt part of the move name.. but does doing this make it more difficult to find subtitles that are in sync with the relase you may have???

You dont always know you need subtitles till half way through a film, when you may meet a foreigner, or an alien, than all of a sudden you need a subtitle file.. Id say about 80% of the time, they are never included with the release, so you then have the painstaking job of trying to find them, only to then find ones that are for a different realse and are not in sync!

As the like of XBMC will add them to its library and show the correct movie title, does it not therefore make sens to leave the movie name in its orignal format?

You don't have to rename the files.
Just use a different Sort expression.
