unable to start sab...

Post by salidapooh »

Don't know if it is related, but I recently switched to ATT U-verse from att DSL, and since then I have been unable to open sabnzbd. I try to start sab and a window pops up that says errors occured, see the log file for details. This is what the log file shows me
Exception in thread HTTPServer Thread-9:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "threading.pyo", line 488, in __bootstrap_inner
File "threading.pyo", line 448, in run
File "cherrypy\process\servers.pyo", line 75, in _start_http_thread
File "cherrypy\wsgiserver\__init__.pyo", line 1644, in start
error: (10049, "Can't assign requested address")
Not sure where to go from here. I have rebooted the computer and reinstalled sab as well. Please help.

I think you have your all IP address filled out in the SAB config.

Solution:
start SABnzbd from the command line with the parameters "--server localhost:8080" (without the quotes)

( *OR*: find sabnzbd.ini , rename it to something else, and then start SABnzbd)

I'd use --server 127.0.0.1:8080
because sometimes the "localhost" definition is screwed up.

If you're on Windows 7/Vista:
Use the Start menu to find "SABnzbd - Safe Mode" and start that.
